How to host a great virtual event?

How to host a great virtual event?

2020 was a shocker for the events industry and 2021 isn’t shaping up to be much better. But with the vaccination programme rolling out at pace in the UK we can begin to see at light at the end of the tunnel.

In the meantime we have been helping our clients who would normally rely and thrive on meeting face-to-face and shaking hands (what an alien concept) move into the virtual events world.

Most recently we won a competitive pitch to help a group of well-known Worcestershire based networking organisations realise their latest event in the virtual world.

North Worcestershire Business Leaders, WINN and North Worcestershire Economic Development and Recognition wanted to host an online networking event for 50 local businesses designed around the theme of Resilience. Very apt given what most firms have been through over the last 18 months or so.

The 50 delegates were treated to five breakout rooms, each with a different subject matter that would be covered by both a small business and a holistic expert. Each of the topics harked back to the five pillars of resilience and were connected to each of the five senses. These were;

Resilience Makes Sense

We were tasked with developing the creative treatment for the event as well as organising logistics and packing and shipping 50 event kits to the delegates ahead of the event. The kits were packed with useful information about each of the room hosts as well as items that would make each of the breakout sessions more engaging.

The event was hosted by Dr. David Hamilton PhD, a best-selling author whose approach to harnessing the power of one's mind and emotions to improve one's health perfectly meshed with the events' overarching themes.

The event was a great success, I mean how many of these online events have you been to that involves a sound bath!?

Jessica Antley of WINN had this to say; “Citizen were the perfect partner to help us deliver this event. Their creativity really lifted the concept behind the event and their cool, calm approach meant we knew they would deliver on time and on budget for us. Here’s to the next event! Albeit hopefully face-to-face next time.”

If you're looking to elevate your next event, whether it be virtual or in the real world, get in touch with the team to see how we can bring it to life.
